LORENZO

My name is Lorenzo and I started dancing when I was 7 years old in 2012. I’ve had a lot of beautiful opportunities and experiences because of my dancing. From when I was 10 years old I started traveling all over the world for competitions, first the youth categories and later I progressed to the most important competitions there are in our scene. On this journey I got introduced to The Ruggeds and became apart of this amazing family. I also got recognition from the fashion brand Lacoste, which sponsored me as an official Lacoste athlete for 3 years.

Leading up to the Olympics, I was very active in the qualification period. In the end I made it to the last qualification right before the Olympics and I missed out on making the stage by a few placements.

Now I’m still actively competing in the highest level of competitions and still wanting to be the best. Aside from this I am also focusing on leaning more towards my own creative expression through dance by working on visual projects that combine my dance and my artistry. With this comes a strong emphasis on my own style in breaking. If I had to describe my style in two words it would be “distraught movements”.

Here are some fun facts about me:

• I turned 20 years old this year, The Ruggeds also turned 20 years old this year, I’m as old as the crew.

• I never dance to breaking music. The music I dance to is mainly trap based and very far away from what we’re ‘supposed’ to dance to.
